History

The area's first initial settlement was called Bluff Station, and the area was eventual established with about 60 families that settled along the Cumberland River. General and U.S. President Andrew Jackson started as a Nashville politician. He made his fame at the battle of New Orleans, which he largely won thanks to the crack Tennessee militia. Nashville became the state capital in 1843. Today, owners can explore the area through the lively performances of the Tennessee History Festival in Bicentennial Capitol Mall.
